Chelsea Still Awaiting First Win On Star Football SuperFans

If the game of football were judged by how well fans could represent their clubs, then Chelsea FC would never win a trophy judging by the regular poor performance of its supporters  on Star Lager’s mega football platform, Star Football Superfans.

On this week’s episode of the TV gameshow, it was the turn of Festus, Odafe Arugba, Anthony Effiong, Adeleye Stephen and Michael Osa who made up Blues FC to puff their chests out and assure host Mozez Praiz of their preparedness for victory.

Sadly, yet again this turned out to be nothing but empty boasts as they soon found themselves falling like a pack of cards before the Red Devils team, comprising Chukwuma Ottah, Unogu Armstrong, Adebayo Sola, David Ndinne and Lucky Otabor. This group of Manchester United fans on their part took advantage of their opponents’ dissaray and won with a 2-nil victory.

This is not the first time Chelsea FC will be rubbished on the show by fans of other teams, as they have recorded only one victory in the eight weeks the show has aired.
Speaking after the show, Corporate Affairs Adviser, Nigerian Breweries Kufre Ekanem had this to say:

“The passion displayed here every week is what this is all about. We have a very strong tradition of connecting with football fans and this platform is the logical extension of that connection. Now the fan is the star under the floodlights. It is now the fan who scores the goal or makes the crucial interception on the way to victory. No one understands the passion of football better than a fan and now fans have this opportunity to become SuperFans – to be seen and recognised by the world and to win a reward for their loyalty to the game. This is what Star as a brand is all about – promoting you.”

Leading beer brand, Star Lager, sponsors the Star Football SuperFans campaign, which tests the knowledge and passion of football fans regarding the game. runs for fourteen weeks.
